Position description
A position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kenneth Kosik to conduct research analyzing genomic data from individuals with inherited neurodegenerative diseases. The work will involve collecting phenotypic data, establishing data bases for data access and availability, conduct analyses concerning genomic variation and ancestry. The data analysis will require some software development but mainly utilize existing programs. The appointee will maintain a liason with the researchers who directly collect the genome samples. The appointee will be expected to make significant, original, and creative contributions to the research project, collaborate with other team members, and publish research.

Qualifications
Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD in molecular cellular biology and genetics, except the dissertation, at the time of application. Four years of experience in human genetic data analysis, computer programming and population genetics is required.
A PhD is required by time of appointment.
A very solid research and publication record. Experience with medical genetics and clinical knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Frontotemporal dementia is preferred.
